A man Mayor Dewey Bartlett calls a stalker was caught by police over the weekend in Bartlett's neighborhood and it turns out he works for Kathy Taylor's campaign.

Bartlett's neighbors called police after seeing a car in the neighborhood for several days. When police talked to Jack Hardwick, he said he was just keeping tabs on Bartlett, but Bartlett's daughter told FOX23 she felt intimidated.

Hardwick is a paid intern for the Kathy Taylor campaign.

Bartlett told FOX23 News that having campaign workers attend opponents' public events is common.

"When it affects somebody's family, when it affects somebody's neighbors, the neighborhood, and scares everybody, that's way over the top. That's totally unacceptable," he said.

Taylor says this is just normal campaign activity, and didn't cross any lines.

"He's got people at all of my campaign events. I don't ... this is a little bit, I think, silliness," said Taylor.

Bartlett's daughter, Andrea Brown, was at a Taylor event on Monday, handing out copies of the police report.

"I certainly felt intimidated. It's the definition of stalking. And it is intimidating, and it is frightening. And it makes me wonder what else she would do to get elected," she said.

We found Hardwick outside of Bartlett's personal business, Keener Oil, and he drove away when we tried talking to him, but he later agreed to talk exclusively to FOX23 News.

He said one of his duties for the campaign was to follow Bartlett to find out what he says at unscheduled events.

He told us he was simply at Bartlett's house waiting to see where his next public event would be, not to intimidate or stalk.

"Absolutely not. I mean, all I do, honestly, I was reading a book, sitting in my car, just waiting to go to the next event. If reading a book is intimidating, then I don't know. I am confident that he would have never been, as the report said, was not, would not be intimidating. That would cross the line," he said.

Brown isn't buying that.

"I can assure you that Dewey's campaign is not doing anything like this," she said.

Taylor's campaign officials told FOX23 they are sorry Bartlett and his family felt intimidated, that wasn't their intent.

It's also important to note that Hardwick wasn't doing anything illegal by sitting on Bartlett's street.

Kid is Jack Hardwick, he used to be the Special Assistant to State Senator John Sparks. His best friend is the field director for Tilley & Nichols, a Democratic Political Consulting firm out of OKC, and runs a non-profit called the Bennett Foundation which is basically a grass roots OFA campus outreach instrument at OU. Wouldn't be surprised if Hardwick's actions were part of a larger strategy emanating from outside of Kathy Taylor's wheel-house. He wasn't living in Tulsa, meaning he was commuting to execute surveillance. You would think that if KT wanted someone to surveil Bartlett, she would choose either an experienced PI or a trusted local member of her staff who wouldn't be so out-of-place. Her "family ties" are deep.

The bought-and-paid for union cops say it's not stalking, but who thinks they wouldnt think differently if they found him at their home when their shift was over.

Ill bet there's another way besides stalking to find out when a candidate's public appearances are scheduled. Taylor's creepy is showing.
