STILLWATER, Okla. - Under the microscope and in the public eye, Oklahoma State's Marcus Smart returned to the basketball court after he was suspended for pushing a fan.
FOX23’s crew was in Stillwater to get the fan's take on the team's most popular player.
Marcus Smart was back in the lineup and back in front of the home crowd after serving a three-game suspension.
"It’s a good time to have him back down the stretch for some important games," said OSU fan Samie Jolemon.
It was a shove that kept Marcus Smart from playing in any OSU basketball game since February 8th.
On Saturday, the sophomore player was back on the floor in front of his home crowd.
When FOX23 talked to Cowboys fans, it was clear no one had a problem with Smart's suspension.
His support was abundant.
"I was proud of Marcus and what he did to apologize first and we're just proud to have him back. I have season tickets to some of the games, but not to this game, but I made sure I got tickets to make sure we were here when Marcus came back," said OSU fan Barnett Scarborough.
"I was going to be here no matter what, but I did want to be here since he was back. I kind of thought he might have a 40-point game."
Smart didn't get 40 points but he did rejuvenate a team that had lost seven straight games and he said afterwards it was the most fun he'd had in a long time.
Smart and the Cowboys play again on Monday night at TCU.
