The Mannford Public School superintendent says there has been an outpouring of support for the district after wildfires destroyed the homes of students and teachers.
Dr. Waldvogel says 5 staff members and 70 students were affected by the recent fires, he thinks that number could rise when school starts next week. Waldvogel says the school has collected $12,000 in donations and they have a stage full of supplies to hand out to those children when school starts.
Waldvogel says the outpouring of support has been so tremendous that they will be giving some of the supplies to students in the Drumright, Olive and Oak Grove districts that were also impacted by the wildfires.
