Police told FOX23 a man left a Tulsa bar with a woman early Friday morning only to be robbed when they made it to his apartment.

Our FOX23 crew has learned new details on this odd case that took place in South Tulsa, near 61st and Riverside.

We explain the details as they unfolded Thursday night.

A man was held at gunpoint while thieves took his money, laptop and TV.

But police tell FOX23 the woman involved left some crucial evidence behind.

"I really can't believe it happened,” said Ronnie Christman.

As Christman took a drink of his beer, he found one of Tulsa’s latest crimes a little hard to swallow.

Cody Lawson couldn't agree more.

"Sounds like a movie….unreal,” said Lawson.

But for one Tulsa man who lives in the Sand Dollar Apartments, the set-up was real.

FOX23 learned the man was at a local bar when he met a woman and came to 61st and Lewis.

But once inside his home, things didn't go well.

Police say Byron Log and one other man forced their way inside the man’s home, leaving damage in their wake.

Police say the two thieves kicked in the door to get in.

The report showed that's when the robbers took the victim's stuff all while holding a gun to his head.

And when they got what they wanted, the two men and the woman, the man's date, ran away.

"It sounds like a lot of planning went into it. That's just horrible…..why?" asked Lawson.

Maybe a lot of planning, but police found one crucial piece of key evidence the woman left behind.

Her cellphone.

Police tell me a text message gave her away, revealing the set up.

The text message also gave them a lead.

A quick investigation led them to Byron Log just a few hours later.

But the woman and the other man are still on the loose.

And that has others thinking twice.

"You never know who is for real and who isn't. How shady they are going to be and what you're going to get into,” said Christman.

FOX23 tried to talk to the victim Friday but he never came home.

We did talk to his next-door neighbor, Francesca Efodilia, she explains to FOX23 she didn’t know what exactly happened Thursday night.

She saw police cars outside her apartment and was shocked something like this happened to her neighbor.

FOX23 dug into Byron Log’s past and found this is not the first time he’s been in trouble with the law.

He was convicted of ‘knowingly concealing stolen property back in 2002.

He’s in jail again but two others, his accomplices, are still on the loose and that makes this neighbor uneasy.

Efodili told FOX23, “I live right next to him, so it could’ve been me it’s scary.”
