Training paid off for Tulsa rescue crews who had to help a man that fell into a shaft at the Port of Catoosa.
Emergency crews were called after a man doing maintenance work at Peavey Grain fell about 20 feet down a shaft while he was working at a grain company. The Tulsa Fire Rescue Task Team got him out using a pulley system and back board. It took them about an hour.
Officials call it a 'smooth rescue.' They say crews train for that situation throughout the year. The man did not have any broken bones, but was taken to the hospital for back pain.
