Tulsa Police are looking for a driver who hit a man on Highway 169 Thursday night.

The man is in the hospital, but is expected to survive. Police say the man who was hit lives nearby 169 & 41st Street. He heard on accident on the highway around 11 pm and ran over to see if everyone okay.

No one was inside the vehicle, so the man started picking up some of the debris from the accident off the highway. He was trying to move a yellow barrell when an SUV hit him and took off.

TPD are looking for a gray or silver SUV. Witnesses say it was either a Dodge Durango or a Nissan Xterra. Police say the initial accident was caused by a drunk driver. That driver was found shortly after and arrested for driving under the influence, hit and run as well as other charges.

The driver of the SUV who hit the man is also believed to have been drinking. A woman who was driving behind that SUV said the driver was swerving before hitting the man.

If you know anything about this crime call Tulsa Police at (918) 596-COPS.

No good deed goes unpunished! I admire your cousin but it's not wise to let your heart lead your feet into peril ... Luckily he wasn't seriously harmed and he'll be home for Christmas.
