Tulsa police have identified one of two men found dead in north Tulsa on Wednesday.

Police say Tommy Rogers was one of the men found dead inside a tent in the 1500 block of North Utica just before 6:00pm on Wednesday. The bodies of two men were discovered in a tent near the railroad tracks just east of Highway 75.

Officers believe the men lit a candle and were asphyxiated. Police say a friend who knew where the men were staying discovered their bodies. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

Of course it was never stated what kind of tent it was. Quite possibly a normal nylon tent. What's more possible would be a hooch made of sheets of plastic moisture condensation from respiration freezing between layers could seal the air in or out. Condolences to friends and family of these two deceased men. May they rest in peace.

This is an example of some "authority" commenting on something they really know nothing about, and reporters taking their word as gold.

Doesn't really matter if the tent was open or closed, there is still ample air passage through the weave of the tent, I think some of the story hasn't been revealed yet.

It doesnt say the tent was open. It is possible this is true especially if they laid there all night in it. Just like sitting in a car within an enclosed garage.

Most likely asphyxiated by something bad they got ahold of...

This is simply not plausible. A candle is not going to use up all the air (or produce enough CO) to be fatal inside something like a tent. Also, reporters shouldn't take a patrolmans guesswork over that of a Medical Examiner.

Yeah an open tent? Something not right here.
