Bartlesville police arrested 20-year-old Brandon William Capps on Halloween night.
He's accused of killing his grandma, 81-year-old Clara Jean Hammer, earlier in the day.
Police say he's being held on complaints of first-degree murder, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, grand larceny, selling stolen property and knowingly concealing stolen property.
Bartlesville police say Capps was found driving Hammer's stolen car, a 2001 Oldsmobile Bravada.
Around 2pm on Halloween, Bartlesville police received a call from neighbors concerned about Hammer's welfare. Police discovered the woman had been beaten to death.
Hammer's vehicle was missing, and it was later discovered in an east Bartlesville apartment complex and officers arrested Capps as he approached the car.
According to an affidavit, Capps confessed on videotape, saying he killed Hammer with a baseball bat, stole her jewelery and car, then sold the jewelry to a store in Bartlesville.
A judge set Capps' bond at $1 million.
