The man who accused an OHP trooper of using excessive force has now been charged with obstructing an officer.

Khristopher Douglas says Trooper Daniel Martin hit him with an OHP issued club on Saturday in Holdenville.

For Trooper Martin, the spotlight is on him again after cell phone video and dash cam video scuffle with a paramedic in May.

FOX23’s Abbie Alford is following this story.

OHP arrested and booked Khristopher Douglas in the Hughes County jail Saturday night for obstruction after a traffic stop in Holdenville.

Douglas says there was a traffic stop in front of the home he was working on and as he was walking inside the home, Trooper Martin, the backing officer, confronted him.

Douglas' attorney says Martin told him to stay back and that’s when Martin attacked his client with his OHP issued club.

While the Holdenville incident is under investigation Trooper Daniel Martin and Tommy Allen are on paid administrative leave.

FOX23 has requested the OHP Uniform Report.

A call to Martin’s attorney who FOX23 has learned is the same attorney representing Martin in the paramedic case has not been returned.

Douglas is scheduled to be back in court on his obstruction charges on October 16th.

Another OHP lie caught on video (not seen on FOX) "The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says there will be no disciplinary action against a trooper seen in a television news video punching a man in the back as the man lay face down while being arrested. The incident came at the end of a chase in which Christopher Harrell was arrested. Troopers say Harrell had sped away from an attempted traffic stop before he turned around and went back in the direction of the troopers. The KWTV video shows Harrell getting on the ground as troopers approached. One put his knee on Harrell's back and later punched him once in the back. The trooper's name hasn't been released. Lt. George Brown says the trooper told Harrell three times to give him his arm to be handcuffed and when Harrell failed to do so the trooper responded as trained with the punch." Now, watch the video and see if you believe that story: http://www.news9.com/Global/category.asp?C=116601&clipId=4245787&autostart=true Did the trooper even have time to make three demands before punching the guy? The guy even drove back to police and laid down without being ordered, obviously surrendering, and yet the trooper said he was resisting?

How long is the OHP going to protect officers like this? These officers are a disgrace to their uniform, a disgrace to their unit, the OHP, and to the state of Oklahoma. The OHP wants and needs our respect, but the way they are acting, they are going to have earn my respect. I can imagine that this officer is only the tip of the iceberg. Our poor state is almost the laughing stock of the nation. We have outdated laws. Our schools are at the bottom of the nation in educating students. Our state lawmakers don’t know how to fix this problem, except throw more taxpayers dollars at the education system. Paying superintendents, principals, and teachers more money for doing the same job of not educating the students is not the answer. We do have some GREAT teachers here, but in some cases their hands are tied. But there are a lot of overpaid superintendents and principals. How hard is it to look at other states that have successful education systems, systems that are in the top 10% of the nation, and start using their programs? Sorry for getting off topic, but I felt it need to be stated.
