The snowy conditions won't stop a major highway project scheduled to start Monday. The project near Highway 169 and state Highway 266 includes taking down two bridges and replacing them with one.

ODOT tells FOX23 that it's because the bridges were built in the 1960's that they have been deemed to be structurally deficient. The 9 million dollar undertaking also includes a reconfiguration of the interchange from a cloverleaf to a diamond design.

There's a lot of truck traffic in this area on state highways 266 and 169 and a lot of commuter traffic as well. The 9 million dollar project is expected to take a little more than a year. This week drivers should expect some lane closures. The left lane of east and westbound sh-266 also known as 46th street north will be closed at the US 169 junctions.
