Tulsa Public Schools says Carnegie Elementary and Grimes Elementary are no longer on lockdown.

The lockdown started around 6:45am Friday morning, while police searched the area for armed and intoxicated suspects. Police say officers tried to pull over a truck near 56th and Harvard but the truck took off starting a chase.  Police say the truck crashed near 56th and Marion and four suspects ran away two people were arrested immediately, a third person was arrested a short time later.  Police say one suspect is still on the loose.

Police say it is possible he is armed, the truck the suspects were in was stolen and contained loot from burglaries.  The other suspects are being questioned.

The district lifted the lockdown just after noon.

Sassy Nana.. the school did not tell a SOUL of the situation and the parents were not aware what was going on. The lockdown just allowed no adults in the school but still allowed children to walk and be brought into the school.

if you have an iphone please get the 5-O radio app.. its free and you can listen to the action live on the police radio and hear whats going on. As far as I know they have not caught him and he is described as having a green shirt, plaid shorts, a back pack and a sawed off shot gun in his right hand. He has dark hair and is from 28- 38 years old white male from 6' foot to 6'3'' and dark hair. His name could be Charlie... that is what the police radio is saying. I have not got too listen in the last few minutes to hear if they have caught him...

I took a walk with my 3 yr old and had no idea about the lockdown. Have they caught the suspect yet? I live at 56 and Gary, just East of Harvard.

There is New Haven United Methodist school which has Pre- school children, right accross the street and they were put on lockdown but nothing told to the parents there that we know of. My daughter had just dropped off my grandaughter and when she stepped outside the Church she saw TPD running around with guns drawn,so she stayed in her vehicle till the lockdown was lifted for them, and went back inside and got her daughter and brought her home cause her nerves were going crazy. As far as I know Channels 2, 6, and 8 had nothing on their web sites about this as of 11:00am Haven't watched their noon news shows but 23 did a story on it.

I am impressed with TPD and NOT impressed with Carnegie informing parents on the situation! We were not told of this AT ALL and if it was not raining would have let our children WALK to school. WHY were the parents not informed????? So upseting...
