People in Green Country have stepped up hygiene habits to keep bacteria and viruses away by incorporating frequent hand washing and hand sanitizer into their daily routine.
Now more local businesses are getting involved to help in the effort to keep customers healthy.
Reasor’s Foods in Tulsa offers hand sanitizing wipes at the entrance of the grocery store to clean off cart handles.
Sandra Morgan told FOX23 that she received a flu shot but you can never be too careful when it comes to the influenza virus.
“I take a lot of precaution like washing my hands, using the hand sanitizer, taking my vitamins and eating right,” said Morgan.
Morgan says the antibacterial wipes are the grocery store allows her to be health conscious while she is running necessary errands.
“I always use them even when it isn’t flu season,” said Morgan, “It just makes sense.”
Nichol Harvey is a shopper a Reasor's. She told FOX23 that the antibacterial wipes is the first thing she grabs when she walks into the grocery store. Harvey says that she had the flu over Christmas break and she has been extra vigilant in her cleaning habits to prevent from getting it again.
“I was so sick,” said Harvey, “I didn’t know if I was going to come out of it.”
Harvey says that anything local businesses can do to help keep people from needing to go to the doctor is a good move.
