Tulsa police are investigating a liquor store shooting that happened at Bedlam Bottles in South Tulsa, Saturday night.

81st Street and Lewis Avenue Saturday night.

Police said three men walked into the store at 81st and Lewis around 9 p.m. and tried to steal liquor bottles.

The store clerk confronted the men with a gun saying to return the liquor to the store.

One of the men tried to take the gun from the store clerk, that's when the gunfire began and one of the men was shot twice.

The Tulsa Police Department told FOX23 that the three men fled the store into a vehicle.

The three men drove two miles when they saw a police officer in a parking lot near 61st Street and Lewis.

Police said the men asked the officer for help.

At that time the shooting victim was taken to the hospital.

The other two men were taken into custody.

FOX23 checked with officers and the shooting victim remained in surgery as of 10 p.m. Saturday night.
