As a Veteran with health issues that cap my ability to perform long tasks or arduous activity without causing more issues that is awaiting benefits I have paid into for over 12 years and still gets a middle finger from the VA and SSDI my family utilizes food stamps to supplement what money I physically am ordered not to work to earn, I find this offensive. I drink maybe 3 cans of soda per day, since I'm physically unable to sustain substantial gainful employment I am to be denied what little pleasure I get from Dr pepper? I guess our sacrifice isn't as great as the greed running rampant in our predominately Republican representatives. I still stay in shape, with physical therapy, how is pop even a dad gum issue? I see many people abusing the system, and it is morose nasty as well as sad. But to dictate what someone can or cannot buy with food stamps is Fascist. I can see how energy drinks, coffee/java and abusive behaviors should be punished if seen fit, punishing everyone for even what I say is the majority of people using them incorrectly or falsely is horridly biased. It is spit in the face of a veteran who still struggles to get things done, but I do it. I work hard when I can and take full advantage of anything we can get because living off less than $5000 a year is no easy friggin task.
