Local officers went after some suspects Friday that they describe as the worst of the worst.

They targeted people suspected of domestic violence in a first of its kind sweep in Adair County.

The second suspect arrested by the group FOX23 rode along with was determined to go down kicking and screaming.

Only our cameras were rolling as Mark Augare hit an investigator and didn't stop until he was tased.

He is just one of 24 men with warrants for domestic violence. FOX23 found out that 10 years ago, he was convicted of beating and injuring a child. He served time for it and was now wanted on sexual abuse charges.

District 27 Drug and Violent Crime Task Force Investigator Elizabeth Crockett researched 50 warrants to put the list together. She teamed up with the U.S Marshal’s office, Stilwell Police, Adair County Sheriff's Office, Cherokee Nation, Tahlequah Police and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office to go after the men.

They even found men they weren't expecting, like Glenn Sam, who was home when they came looking for his cousin; he had warrants out for harassing and threatening his ex-wife.

"A lot of the times, domestic violence is unrecorded, so until a situation is lethal people don't know about it," said Crockett.

"You never know until someone speaks up if they're getting beaten, have issues or are being harassed, threatened; it can be an unspoken crime," she said.

There were 12 men arrested Friday.
Augare faces additional charges of assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

This is the lowest form of cop theater. Guilty until proven innocent for TV. Reporters should be more critical.

I didn't see the accused doing anything but getting jerked around by the police. The only screaming I heard were from family members that sounded like children in the house. I feel sorry for those kids having to witness this. what a shame the news cameras had to tape this.

The only "kicking and screaming" you see is when they guy is getting his ribs broken by the pile of cops on top of him. This was nothing but a photo-op that only happened because there was some grant money with quotas attached. Fox23 should remember they are not the publicity arm of the police.
