Even though everyone knows Christmas day is coming for an entire year, there are always going to be those procrastinators who wait until the very last minute to do their Christmas shopping. Fortunately, those procrastinators had options this Christmas Eve.

With ice melting and warmer weather on Tuesday, stores across Tulsa were packed with last minute Christmas shoppers.

"Definitely last minute," one shopper said with a laugh.

"I'm finishing up my last minute Christmas shopping," another admitted.

Every year retailers are busy with last minute gift shoppers.

"We're just buying a TV last minute," one couple told FOX23 News.

Courtney Thune, who manages Best Buy's Multi Channel said she was expecting a huge rush of last minute shoppers.

"There always is, and it's always really good," Thune said. "We're always busy right up until we close the door on Christmas Eve. People are always trying to come in last minute for their one last thing right as we're trying to close the doors. But, yes, we always see a big [spike]. It's always really good."

That's why her department stocked up on all the high demand holiday items.

"Tablets have been really hot this year, cell phones have been really hot this year," Thune said. "Fitness category; health and fitness has been really big this year. Digital cameras, that kind of thing. And some TVs this year, actually, and the bit thing this year has also been gaming consoles."

With consoles being one of the biggest holiday items of the year, many shoppers found it hard to get their hands on one.

"He was looking at the XBOX or Playstation," one woman told FOX23 News.

Consoles flew off store shelves this holiday season, partly because games have been waiting for a console update for seven years.

Even though some couldn't find exactly what they were looking for Tuesday, most said the weather at least helped make for a better shopping experience.

"Feels much better today," one woman told FOX23 News. "It's much warmer compared to a couple of days ago. it's enjoyable to come outside and shop."

Most area retailers planned to close up shop around 6pm on Christmas Eve, but Toys-R-Us decided to remain open until 9.
