The City of Tulsa alerted FOX23 that a large water main ruptured in east Tulsa, Monday.
FOX23 went to scene to find water had taken over the street, making the area hazardous for the evening's below freezing temperatures.
The area of concern is 21st & Harvard near QuikTrip.
This water line is 16-inch, which is considered to be one of the largest in the city.
The City of Tulsa's Water Distribution crews have begun to repair the line.
Traffic has been limited to one eastbound lane and one westbound lane.
Water service to businesses and residences along the 21st Street area may be affected by this break.
The repair is expected to be completed by Tuesday.
After the repair, the lane closures will still be in effect for the next seven to ten days until the roadway is safely repaired.
Stay with FOX23, we will alert you when the repair is completed and the lanes have been reopened.
