A Tulsa tradition damaged by a fire will re-open in April.
Knotty Pine BBQ owners have signed leases at two new locations for the 60 year old restaurant. Robert Tucker of Romar Foods LLC says locations will open at the Highlands Shopping Center at 61st and 33rd West Ave. and at I-244 and Utica.
Fire damaged Knotty Pine’s longtime Sand Springs location in May of 2010.
Tucker said, "Tulsans will not only enjoy the same great recipes they grew up with but will also see most of the familiar faces from Knotty Pine. Priscilla Hutchinson, General Manager for thirty two years and David Woodard, a family member of the original founders, are still involved with the company as well as a lot of the wait staff."
Peter Ort, director of social media for the company, said "The response has been overwhelming. People have contacted us from across the United States wanting to attend the grand opening. One man posted on Facebook that he would fly in from the east coast."
Tucker confirmed plans to open the 61st & 33rd West Avenue store first, with Utica to follow shortly thereafter.
