Kellogg's Mini-Wheats cereal recalled

The Kellogg company announced Wednesday it is recalling 2.8 million boxes of its popular "Mini-Wheats" cereal, because they could be contaminated with pieces of metal mesh.

No quality control at these food manufacturing companies BEFORE they ship out???? Don't you figure that a box of cereal would already have been eaten by purchasers this long ago??? Expiration dates are a month to 2 months ago?!?
