Tulsa Police Officers are looking for robbers who shot an employee and stole cash from a Kentucky Fried Chicken near 42nd and Peoria. Officers said the restaurant had just closed and an employee was taking out the trash when two men with weapons approached him. Officers said one robber had a gun and another had a knife; they forced themselves inside.

Employees told police they made them get down on the the ground in the kitchen and forced the manager to open up the safe. Officers said an employee got shot, when one robber fired off a round and the bullet hit him in the stomach.  Police said there were two other suspects involved, but they were outside while the robbery was in progress.

Witnesses in the neighborhood said they saw three men running to dark blue pick-up truck. The driver sped off so fast, officers say he hit a parked car and also a tree.

The robbers got away with cash and all of the employees cell phones. Officers say the employee who got shot is expected to be okay.
