Tulsa businesswoman and educator, Joy Hofmeister, announced she will seek the Republican nomination for Oklahoma State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Hoffmeister described herself as a a conservative Republican, wife and mother. She said she’s running because of failed leadership.
“I am a businesswoman, educator, the wife of a Baptist minister who later became a judge, and the mother of four children. They are all grown with my youngest headed to college in a few months. I am ready now to focus on higher standards and higher student achievement for the school children of Oklahoma.”
Hoffmeister will challenge current superintendent Janet Barresi. Barresi was elected in 2011.
