Tulsans celebrated the warmer weather Saturday with free snow cones.

Josh's Sno Shack gave away free snow cones from 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. near 71st and Garnett.

"We decided that everyone should get a taste of summer in the middle of winter," says Josh Juarez, owner of Josh's Sno Shack.

The event also raised awareness and money for New Hope. The charity funds after-school programs for children, with the hope of ending generational incarceration.

"Oklahoma actually has one of the highest female incarceration rates so that leaves a lot of kids without parents," Juarez says.

The goal today was to give away 500 snow cones in an hour and a half.

Josh's Sno Shack will be back open this summer.
