Before six on Saturday morning, a jackknifed semi shut down Highway 169 northbound at 56th. St.
Officers say the driver was trying to light a cigarette when he hit the guardrail and slid down a bridge.
Throughout the morning, crews laid down sand to clean up oil and fuel leaking onto the highway. According to police, the driver wasn't hurt in the accident. His double trailer was carrying car parts through Tulsa.
Officers on the scene, told FOX23 they expected the highway to be shut down northbound for the rest of the morning. Around 2:30 pm, it was re-opened. For over eight hours crews worked to clear the roadway and clean everything up.
