Creek County officials say six inmates in the last ten days have been hospitalized for swallowing razor blades at the Creek County jail.

The Creek Co. undersheriff tells FOX23 the inmates swallowed the blades from safety razors on purpose, in order to get out of jail.  All but two of the inmates are now back at the jail.  Two are still in the hospital.

The undersheriff says the inmates were breaking apart disposable razors.  Jail officials say they are taking steps to prevent such an incident from happening again.
