Officials from the Tulsa zoo say an injured pelican found on the I-44 bridge has a fractured wing.
The bird was injured when it landed on the shoulder of the westbound lanes of I44 over the Arkansas River on Monday morning. Animal control caught the bird and took it to the Tulsa Zoo for treatment.
A zoo official says the bird has a fractured wing and will undergo treatment later this week. Officials are cautiously optimistic the bird will be OK and they will release him to the wild.
