A child is nearly abducted from his mother at Tulsa park by two homeless men. Police say when the strangers approached the woman they say on each side of her telling the mother they wanted to abduct her three-year-old son and then kill him.One of the men snatched the child from the mother but she was able to wrestle her son out of his arms.
Tulsa Police officer and defense and owner of Citadel Intelligence, Greg Douglass says you should always be aware of your surroundings. Avoid being distracted by reading a book or make sure you look up often. Watch for anyone who is coming near you, if you have a gut feeling that something isn't right, put your hands up and use a fencing technique.
"We want to put up the fence immediately and say, "STOP, GET AWAY!," says Douglass. "You know his intentions. If he just wanted to panhandle some money or wanted to borrow a cellphone when you say say stop don't come any closer if they don't have bad intentions they are going to listen to that."
Douglass recommends that you not ask questions, "before you even knew it or you could respond he was on top of you. He could have grabbed you or could have done whatever he wanted."
And finally if the attacker doesn't stop run away looking around and walk in a circle to check if anyone is behind you.
