It’s embarrassing, and the numbers are enough to put a frown on your face: Oklahoma ranks 50th in the nation for adults who have visited a dentist in the past year.
That’s why free dental care is being provided to hundreds through Oklahoma Mission of Mercy.

People gave plenty of reasons why they don't go to the dentist. Some say they don't have insurance, others say even if they had insurance, they couldn't afford it. others were afraid to go.
Whatever the reason, people are not going.

"Unfortunately, a lot of them don't see the value in it, until it hurts," said Dr. Mitch Kramer.

While receiving care, people were encouraged to sign up for insurance. Dentist are also arming patients with health tips, hoping they'll pass them down to their kids. However, considering everyone's circumstances, that won't always happen.

"I can't afford it. My kids get sooner care from the state, and my husband is Indian so he gets free insurance. I'm the one who can't afford it,” said Priscilla Berryhill.

Doors will open at 5 a.m., and it is first come, first served.
