The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for shooting two penned dogs in Wagoner County.
The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office says on February 10th a Wagoner County resident reported his home had been burglarized and his two dogs,-who were outside in pens, were shot.
Investigators say the burglar got away with gas generators, fishing poles and paintings.
The Humane Society says bringing attention to this case of animal cruelty will help protect the community. "We hope our reward helps find whoever is responsible for shooting these innocent dogs who were penned at the time of the reported burglary, and posed no threat to any intruder," said Cynthia Armstrong, Oklahoma state director for The Humane Society of the United States.
The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office is investigating. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Wagoner County Tip line at 918-485-7799.
