A tip from family members searching for a missing man leads deputies to human remains near 56th St. N. and Memorial in north Tulsa.
The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office says the remains and a gray Dodge pick-up truck were found near a creek.
Sergeant Eric Kitch says they are familiar with the area and a man who used to live out there but the recent rain and flooding are making it difficult to identify the body.
"The remains are in a very decomposed state," said Kitch.
He believes it may be the remains of Timothy Gordon. He owned the truck that was found and also reported missing on June 6th. Kitch cannot confirm that until the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s office determines it is the same person.
"We found a camp back here, looks like he had been living here for quite some time," Kitch told FOX23.
A woman who identified herself as Gordon’s girlfriend also showed up at the scene. She said the last time she saw Gordon was on April 16th. She says the two had an argument and she asked him to leave her home. Kitch tells me they performed a welfare check on Gordon on April 18th. Kitch says Gordon was fine.
The State Medical Examiner’s Office will examine the remains to determine the cause of death.
FOX23 will continue to follow the story and let you know what we find.
