A clerical error led to the destruction of evidence in two cases.

A Tulsa Police Department spokesman says a gun used in a murder was destroyed in 2009 and a rape kit was also destroyed. Officer Jason Willingham says the suspect in the rape was convicted without the rape kit and the destruction of the gun will not be an issue in that case.

Willingham says the TPD property room dealt with 28,000 pieces of property and 25,000 were ordered destroyed by the court. Safeguards have been put in place to prevent this from happening in the future.

Some TPD officers have gone to jail for selling stolen guns, if this gun turns up again at a crime, well know more.

Derp, derp! But they catch all those law abiding citizens who are speeding, though. Bring in that revenue. Who cares about REAL crime.
