The annual Hound Dog Blues festival will take place Friday and Saturday.

Chris Duarte, Albert Castiglia and Sean Chambers lead the lineup of blues rock artists at the festival at Chandler Park.

"This year we will be benefiting a variety of animal rescue organizations and there will be multiple opportunities to help." said Matt Arbuckle, Hound Dog Blues Festival Organizer. "With the extraordinary lineup we have booked there will be something for everyone plus with more affordable ticket prices we are expecting a full house."

The festival begins September 21 at 6:00 p.m. with The Bel Airs, Steve Pryor and Sean Chambers' bands making appearances.

Saturday will start with a rescue group Adopt-A-Thon at 8:00 a.m. followed by music beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the Blues Society of Tulsa Blues Challenge winner opening the show.

The event will feature 7 additional bands as well as raffles and give-aways throughout the day leading up to headliner Chris Duarte taking the stage.

New this year will be primitive camping in the park for attendees who wish to bring a tent and stay over. Food and merchandise will be available for purchase. Beer, soft drinks, water and ice will also be available.

Seating is festival style, and concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Pets are welcome but must be leashed and monitored at all times. Coolers will be allowed in camp sites but not in the festival arena.

Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Advance tickets are $10 Friday, $15 Saturday and $20 two-day in advance and are on sale at www.ticketstorm.com and Starship Records in Tulsa. Children (7-17) are $5 per day with 6 and under free.

I went to college with Steve Pryor. You should see him in leotards. He's truly a talent.
