Homeowner in Washington County chases after suspects in his truck after attempted burglary
Two men with an extensive criminal history were arrested in Washington County after a reported attempted home burglary.
Morgan and Amanda's Washington County home was burglarized two months ago.
Amanda told FOX23 that her home was almost broken into again on Thursday morning while she was at home.
"It was scary," said Amanda, "I was just shaking the whole time."
Her husband, Morgan, works a few miles down the road. She called him, and then called 911 for help when the men started to kick the front door.
"They hit the door probably 20 times but it just felt like forever," said Amanda.
Morgan arrived at the house before deputies arrived and blocked the driveway.
He said he quickly changed his mind and decided that he would chase the suspects in his pickup truck.
"They weren't going to get away from me, they were going to get caught," said Morgan.
Morgan told FOX23 that he maintained a high rate of speed to follow the men on the county roads.
"I was on the phone with 911 telling them every move and every road that we were on."
Nowata County Deputies and Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrested 23-year-old Markall McCarter and 63-year-old Earl Lacy. The two men were then transported them to the Washington County Jail.
Sheriff Rick Silver told FOX23 that Lacy's criminal history began in 1965 and is more than 20 pages long.
"He has a long and extensive criminal history," said Silver.
Amanda said that she was grateful for the help of law enforcement and that no one was hurt.
"I'm just thankful that they were caught so that they can't do it again to anyone else," said Amanda.
