In observance of the New Year's holiday, there will be no residential refuse, recycling, yard waste or bulky waste collection on Tuesday, January 1.
This week, many customers with either once-a-week or twice-a-week service will experience a change in their collection day, as their collection services may be moved forward by one day.
For customers with once-a-week collection services:
• There will be no change in service for once-a-week Monday customers.
• Tuesday customers will be collected on Wednesday; Wednesday customers will be collected on Thursday; Thursday customers will be collected on Friday and Friday customers will be collected on Saturday.
Those customers with twice-a-week service will experience the following changes in service:
• Monday and Thursday customers will be collected on Monday and Friday.
• Tuesday and Friday customers will be collected on Wednesday and Saturday.
• Wednesday and Saturday customers will be collected on Thursday and Saturday.

Disposal Recommendations for Residential Refuse & Recycling Customers
Holiday Yard Waste Collection:
• Regardless of service level, all yard waste is to be placed at the curb.
• The City of Tulsa Green Waste crews will collect yard waste at the curb on the customer's primary collection day.
• The City of Tulsa will offer complimentary collection of Christmas trees during the months of December and January. During this time no 'Green Waste' sticker will need to be applied to discarded trees.
• Christmas trees may be placed at the curb on the customer's primary collection day.
• Christmas trees may be no longer than 6 ft. in length. Trees longer than 6 ft. in length will need to be cut into lengths 6 ft. or smaller.
• Please remove lights and tinsel from Christmas trees.
• Any capacity in the customer's refuse cart may be used for holiday greenery to include Christmas trees.
Recycling:
• Recycling is collected on the customer's primary collection day.
• Any capacity in the customer's recycling cart may be used for acceptable recyclable items to include cardboard.
• Wrapping paper and Styrofoam are not acceptable recyclable items. (Note: Cardboard wrapping paper tubes may be recycled)
• Cardboard that does not fit inside the customer's recycling cart may be stored and placed in the recycling cart on a future collection date or cut into lengths that fit inside the customer's refuse cart.
• Cardboard placed outside of the customer's refuse and/or recycling cart(s) will not be collected.
• No plastic film accepted.
• No ribbons or bows accepted although customers are encouraged to repurpose.
Items That Do Not Fit Inside the Refuse or Recycling Cart(s):
• Extra refuse placed outside of the customer's refuse and/or recycling cart(s) will need to be bagged and have an 'Extra Refuse' sticker applied to each bag.
• Cardboard or any items placed outside of the customer's refuse and/or recycling cart(s) will not be collected unless properly bagged with the appropriate sticker.
