The dog named Highway is officially up for adoption.

The puppy was found on I-44 near Memorial last week when Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers rescued her from the highway last week.

She was taken to Tulsa Animal Welfare, her owners came forward but surrendered her, so she needs a good home.

Animal welfare officials urged all pet owners to take steps that could help if their pet is ever missing.

“Make sure that you have good photos of your dog, which is good to do anyway in case your dog is lost, that you can post on craigslist, Tulsa animal welfare has a lost and found Facebook page that has often reunited animals with their owners,” said Jean Letcher, manager at Tulsa Animal Welfare.

Anyone interested in adopting Highway can stop by Tulsa Animal Welfare. The adoption fee is $75.
