The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has shut down some lanes of traffic on highway 169 at 46th Street North to repair a hole that opened in the bridge over 169.

It was shut down around 11 a.m.

According to ODOT, crews discovered the small hole in the bridge deck and immediately shut down the area and got crews in to patch the hole.

The work is expected to last several hours.  Drivers are urged to take alternate routes.

ODOT spokeswoman Kenna Carmon confirms that the bridge will be replaced as part of a $9 million dollar construction project.  Construction is expected to start early next year and would include replacing the bridge and reconstructing the interchange.
