Northbound lanes of Highway 169 were closed for several hours as Tulsa police officers diverted traffic around a three-car pileup, early Sunday morning.
The Tulsa Police Department was called to the scene of a two-car collision, but before they arrived another car came plowing into the already wrecked cars, turning it into a three-car pileup.
TPD tells FOX23 the Chrysler Pacifica SUV hit the Chevy S-10 pickup truck. The SUV was trying to move out of the pickup truck's way by changing lanes, but the pickup was changing lanes at the same time, causing the rear-end collision.
The SUV and pickup truck moved to the center concrete median to exchange information. According to police, before they could arrive, a Grand AM approached at a high speed and hit both vehicles, causing a three-car pileup.
OHP reported the vast damage to the vehicles came mainly from the way the third car struck the already wrecked SUV and pickup truck.
No one was transported to the hospital.
