A judge has delayed arraignment for a Tulsa father charged with child neglect after police found his 18-month-old daughter locked in a metal dog cage.
William Lewallen was to go before a judge Monday, but the arraignment has been postponed until March 11. Lewallen pleaded not guilty to one count of felony child neglect.
Police were called to the a north Tulsa home in November after a neighbor saw a naked three-year old boy in Lewallen’s backyard.
Police found a 22-month girl locked inside a dog crate in the house. Another three-year old boy was discovered naked and asleep next to Lewallen. Police say Lewallen had taken narcotic painkillers with beer to deal with back pain.
The children's mother, Erin Lewallen, faces one count of child neglect. The three children were placed in protective custody.
