Local gun stores have been packed with buyers.
FOX23 called a few store owners, who said they were too busy Wednesday afternoon to accommodate our requests for interviews.
However, we did speak with the general manager of 2A Shooting Center, Eric Fuson.
Talk of snatching guns from shelves has never been better for business.
"It has put more guns on the streets in the past six weeks than anytime in my 15 year career of selling firearms," said Fuson.
Fuson said sales of high powered rifles increased after several mass shootings across the nation. Some of the shooters had a military style rifle their arsenal.
"The fastest way to get people to buy something is to tell them they can't have it," said Fuson.
Customers continued arming themselves as he watched President Obama tell the nation how gun control will be handled.
"This will be difficult,” said President Obama. “There will be pundits and politicians and special interest lobbyists publicly warning of a tyrannical all out assault on liberty."
"I was encouraged because he said it was up to congress to act," said Fuson.
Part of the proposal: a ban on assault style weapons and high capacity magazines; anything that holds over 10 rounds. Fuson doesn't think it'll make a difference.
Fuson believes Glocks will be the next big seller. The gun holds more than 10 rounds.
"That this time we must do something to protect our communities and our kids," said President Obama.
All the gun sales have led to a shortage on ammo at 2A Shooting Center. Fuson said, there's a ration on ammo for the .9mm, .223, and .22 long rifles.
