The Tulsa Fire Department told FOX23 that a transformer sparking caused a grass fire in west Tulsa.

This is the second fire that sparked in West Tulsa, Tuesday.

The fire started after 5 p.m. near 23rd and Jackson, off the railroad tracks, but was extinguished less than an hour after it started.

FOX23 talked to the Holly Refinery, which is near where the fire was burning.

Officials told us the fire was east of the refinery and never threatened the building.

The first fire started right off Highway 75, Tuesday afternoon, putting drivers in immediate danger.

The fire was small in size but concerned fire crews because of it's proximity to the drivers on the Highway.

FOX23 was on scene as Tulsa Fire Department put the fire out as quick as it started.

Fire crews told us the fire was likely caused by a lit cigarette butt that spread due to high winds.

Stay with FOX23 and we'll keep you up updated.
