A man is behind bars after a quick-thinking good Samaritan saw him climbing out of his neighbor's house with a bunch of stolen property.

Jordan Brossett and his cousin Pat had just gotten off work, and when they pulled up to the house, Brossett saw Lonnie Flowers crawling out of his neighbor's window.

Without even thinking Brossett took off after him in his truck.

"We chased him around to Oswego, the next street over, and witnessed him running across the street. I jumped out of the truck and chased him in the backyard and tackled him and held him down until the cops got there," Brossett said.

Brossett said it angered him that this man would be so brazen to steal from his neighbor.

"He had a tube of money with him and rings on his finger," said Brossett.

According to the police report, Flowers also had a pink iPod stuffed inside his sock. The report shows that the victim's house had been burglarized and ransacked. Officers also found a yellow bag of marijuana in his other sock.

FOX23 asked Brossett what Flowers' reaction was when he tackled him.

"He was stunned. I mean, there wasn't really much he could do. We just walked him out and set him down beside the truck," Brossett said.

Brossett told FOX23 there have been numerous burglaries in the area. He's not sure if Flowers is responsible for all of them, but either way, he is just glad he was able to help stop this one crime and help give the victim back their stuff.

Flowers is being held on second-degree burglary, stolen property and possession of marijuana charges.
