Glenpool’s Chief of Police says the department is waiting on DNA results in the case of an abduction and sexual assault of a 12-year old girl.“If the person is a registered sex offender, that information is generally already in the system and they can match it up that way,” said Glenpool Chief of Police, Dennis Waller.
Police say the girl told police a man picked her up near Elm and 138th Place and took her to different locations and sexually assaulted her on January 8th.
Glenpool Police Chief, Dennis Waller, says that the first location was some type of construction site. The second location was described as a house with an outhouse behind the property.
Chief Waller says they are still investigating but they have no specifics as to where those two locations are.
“We have no idea at this time,” said Chief Waller.
The victim was taken to a Tulsa hospital for an examination and spoke to counselors. Police say it could take two months for those results to come back.
Police say the victim also worked with OSBI to create a composite sketch. She described the suspect as a bi-racial Native American, 6” tall, 210 pounds, large stomach, light brown hair gray mustache and chin whiskers with eye glasses.
Police say the car used in the incident is describate as a white Jeep Grand Cherokee with a gray interior.
Investigators say they have been working every lead that came in on the case and do believe it was a random incident and won't happen again.
“From the information we got from the child she said that she didn’t know him and had never seen him,” said Chief Waller.
Chief Waller says that he encourages parents to talk with their children about what to do if there are approached by a stranger.
“Tell them they need to run, scream do whatever you need to do to draw attention,” said Chief Waller.
