On Friday, Cody Mathews was arrested for two counts of kidnapping, after holding a woman at knife point while her daughter was home.

The victim told police, Mathews held the knife to her throat and threatened to kill her and then himself.

After a tip, police arrived at the Glenpool home but no one would answer the door. Officers then saw someone inside. Fearing for the victims safety, they yelled out that if no one came to the door, they would enter.

After kicking in the front door, the victim and her daughter ran out crying and thanking officers. Telling them, she'd been praying for two hours Mathews would leave or police would come.

The victim also told police that Mathews took her phone and kept her from calling police. Mathews was also charged with prevention of an emergency call.

Mathews told police in questioning, he begged the victim to not answer the door because he feared he had outstanding traffic warrants and he hadn't held the victim against her will. In response, police told Mathews the facts appear different.

A criminal history report shows Mathews has had three prior felony convictions; including eluding police, possession of contrabnad and possession of a controlled substance.

Fearing Mathews could follow through with any of his threats of violence, police requested a higher bond of $105,000.
