Police say they arrested Foyil teacher Sharon Comer for possession of meth over the weekend.
FOX23 was the only station to get the arrest reports from the incident that happened last Saturday.
Comer told police she was a middle school teacher; her picture is still on the school's website.
Monday night FOX23 walked up to Comer's door to get her take on the arrest.
"Well it wasn't mine. It was in the car and it was somebody else’s. It was my car so I was arrested for it," Comer told FOX23.
The Sand Springs Police Department has a different take on what was found.
"The drugs and paraphernalia were on her person so she was the one in possession of it," said Mike Carter, assistant chief of the Sand Springs Police Department.
Carter said the arrest began when his officer pulled Comer and her boyfriend over for making an illegal turn at Highway 97 in Sand Springs.
Police began investigating when the officer found that neither person had a valid driver's license.
Carter said that during the search of the vehicle the officer found the meth on Comer, so he attempted to arrest her.
But she refused.
According to the arrest report,Comer was on the ground during the arrest, yelling, "I am a middle school teacher, let me go."
We found Comber listed as a keyboarding teacher on the Foyil Public School's website.
Carter isn't sure why Comer and her boyfriend were in Sand Springs.
What he does know is that the meth was found in the jacket Comer was wearing, even though she has a different story.
"Well it wasn't mine. It was in the car and it was somebody else's. It was in my car so I was arrested for it," Comer said, maintaining her story.
Sharon Comer was arrested on charges of possession of meth but is out on bond Monday night and parents in Foyil are reacting.
Wanda Full, a parent FOX23 spoke with said Comer has been a teacher at Foyil for at least a decade and that she’s taught both her of her children.
"She seemed so sweet and innocent," said Wanda Faull told us.
However, Faull is floored that Sharon Comer was arrested for meth.
"She was both of my kids' kindergarten teachers."
FOX23 asked, "Was she a good teacher?"
"Oh yes, Russell my oldest learned a lot from her. She's usually real patient, real patient with the students," said Faull.
After a struggle, Carter told us Comer was arrested but she bonded out, so we went to ask her about the meth and the arrest.
FOX23 asked her, "We saw on records you were arrested for methamphetamine. Would you like to tell us your side of the story?"
"Well it wasn't mine it was in the car and it was somebody else's."
But police say they found it on her.
And Faull said that's inexcusable.
"If it's in your jacket, if it's on your person it's got to be yours," Faull said.
Comer's boyfriend was never arrested.
We tried getting in touch with the school today but never heard back.
FOX23 will continue working on getting a statement from them this week.
