Two foster kids were taken to an emergency children's shelter Saturday night after their parents locked them out of their Owasso home, according to Owasso Police.
Gerold and Sherry McMillian were arrested early Sunday morning.
According to an affidavit obtained from the Owasso Police Department, a neighbor spotted the McMillian's teen foster daughter sitting on the porch of the home, shivering and barefoot. The neighbor called police.
She told police her foster parents took their biological kids and locked her and her brother outside the house to go a friend's home in Collinsville to watch a movie and eat dinner. The teens had been locked out of the home for about 3 hours.
Sherry McMillian, told police they were having discipline problems with the teens and that is why they locked them out of the house. Garold McMillian told police he didn't think it was a problem and was the same as leaving them at a football game or at the movies.
The kids were taken to the Owasso Police Department, where they were fed, and then transported to the Laura Dester Children's Shelter.
They bonded out of Tulsa County Jail early Sunday afternoon. The parents face two charges each of child abuse-mistreatment.
