A former Victory Christian Center employee entered a plea of not guilty in court on Friday.

Israel Castillo is charged with lewd or indecent proposal to a child. The 23-year old is accused of sending explicit Facebook messages to a 14-year old girl he’d known for at least two years.

Castillo’s lawyer filed a motion to have the charge dismissed but it was overruled. If convicted Castillo faces 20 years in prison.

A jury trial was requested and scheduled to begin on August 1st.
