A former Tulsa firefighter who pled guilty to felony animal cruelty has been sentenced.
Randy Shipman pleaded guilty to shooting a Broken Arrow neighbor’s dog with a pellet gun, the dog later died from injuries. Police say Shipman had previously called and reported the dog as a nuisance and said the dog had lunged at his children.
Shipman has been sentenced to a four year deferred sentence, $600 fine, $150 to Victim's Crime Assessment, 80 hours of community service with the Tulsa SPCA and two years of DOC supervision.
Shipman resigned from the Tulsa Fire Department in April.
