People in Colcord should avoid drinking water due to a potential worm infestation.

The water superintendent, Thomas Beck, said this is a precaution because there is a possible red work infestation. It was discovered around 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

Beck advised people not to drink the water but said other uses are okay. The lines are being flushed and more tests will be run to determine when the water will be safe to drink.

The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma's Mobile Food pantry will be distributing three pallets of bottled water to residents on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at 192 West Senior Street in Colcord.
