Oklahoma is starting to see a rise in flu cases this year, there have been over 50 cases reported where someone has been hospitalized.

FOX23 went to the Walgreens at 71st and Sheridan to see how they are preparing for the rise is cases.

Jessica Evans is the pharmacy manager and she says she noticed the climb in cases, "I heard of about 3 cases right of the bat and none since then, and now we are starting to see and now we are starting to see an up take in flu cases in the last month, month in a half."

According to the Center of Disease Control, as of December 21st, Oklahoma's influenza activity was moderately high, and the cases have become regional.

While the cases grow, Evans assures they are well prepared, "fully stocked, we've got flu shots and Tamiflu."

Evans said that Tamiflu is required to have on the shelves and if they ever run out they can call another pharmacy to make sure it is available.

In order to get Tamiflu a prescription must be written by a doctor and taken within 48 hours of when the symptoms start.

There have been no deaths related to influenza in Oklahoma
