Tulsa fire crews responded to an explosion in a midtown early Thursday morning.

The explosion and brief fire broke out in the 4100 block of S. Zunis, near 41st & Lewis. Fire crews say a man in the home was hurt after an explosion in the bathroom. The man suffered burns on his arms, hands, chest and stomach but is expected to recover.

Fire crews say they don't know what caused the explosion, but it was powerful enough to blow out a window, and blow the bathroom door off the hinges.

Crews say there's no apparent evidence of any illegal activity in the home. A fire investigator is on the scene working to determine the cause of the explosion.

Fire officials confirm the same home was also the scene of a fire back in February of 2011, that fire was determined to be caused by a meth lab. One man, Tyson Terrell pled guilty to second degree arson and manufacturing a controlled substance. Fire officials say the victim in this morning's fire was also charged in that case.
