COWETA, Okla. - A grass fire in Coweta has reignited near 146th Street South and 209th East.

An off duty Tulsa firefighter used a garden hose to battle the fire until crews arrive. Firefighters from 5 departments are battling a major fire in Coweta. Firefighters fought a blaze in this area overnight. They were able to get it out around 1:30 this morning, but the high winds and dry conditions caused it to re-ignite around 11:30 today.

Some neighbors are helping with garden hoses. Others told FOX23 they are removing their pets and valuables from their homes in case they burn down. People who live in the area are helping get people out of the way so crews can get in to fight the fire. A fire broke out in the area on Sunday as well.
